Old Time is Still A-Flying
Submitted by Quentin on Wed, 12/31/2008 - 7:57pmSpent the past weekend with my father and brother and Amy (or is it Aimee?) in the far north. Brought Elizabeth with us because she would be spending the next few days with Papaw and Nanna (the designated nicknames for her paternal grandparents). We surprised Dad with a Blu-Ray player and The Dark Knight, and for those who may have missed it, I take it back, I was wrong, movies in HD are god damned sexy. Now, the gift I was expecting was the Logitech G15 keyboard, and I'm very happy with it. I'm also very happy for my Dr. Pepper pajama bottoms, which are full of win.
Chasing Christmas
Submitted by Quentin on Fri, 12/26/2008 - 3:18pmChristmas 2008 was spent working. And driving. A lot.
Now, there's a precursor to all of this that you need to be aware of: my cell phone does not make outgoing calls. I can receive them just fine, but I can't dial out. It could be that it was dropped into a lake, or took damage in some fall from an amusement park ride, or was too close to a solar flare, or I just didn't pay my bill this month. I'm sure it was one of those.
Damage Control
Submitted by Quentin on Sun, 12/31/2006 - 9:52amThe past few days have been all about damage control. Recovery from Christmas, recovery from web issues, recovery from nausea... So, no, I haven't been around much lately. Too much to do and not enough time to do it in. So here's the quickie recap: Robin joined us with the Gauck family for Thanksgiving where Turkey and mass quantities of Good Eats were had, not to mention some Wii gaming. December brought me at least ten hours of overtime just about every week which was a godsend (although we didn't know it at the time).
September has been rugged
Submitted by Quentin on Sun, 09/17/2006 - 5:54pmI promise you that I've wanted to update, really I have. But, well, you know how it is. I'm getting married in three weeks, I've had birthday parties to attend, and now there's all sorts of training at work. It's a tough job, ya dig?
A Christmas Story
Submitted by Quentin on Thu, 12/29/2005 - 12:39pmGod damn I hate being sick. Oh dear, look what I've done. I've gone and blasphemed right off the bat. The first words of this entry violates one of the ten commandments, the very foundation of our system of laws. Surely this does not bode well.
When I get sick, I mostly suffer from the cough, and it lasts for DAYS and DAYS and a couple weeks to boot. I'm still sick. But "I've recently made a deal that will keep the Empire out of here forever." Details to come soon.
A Christmas Story
Pottery and Rivalry
Submitted by Quentin on Mon, 11/21/2005 - 1:12pmThis weekend was non-f'n-stop. From the moment I got home from work on Friday until my head hit the pillow last night it was moving. Friday after work Vickie and I met with her neice Julie and her friend Tyler (or was it Trevor?
Finally Getting Around to Things
Submitted by Quentin on Tue, 10/04/2005 - 10:50amHi guys. How are things? Good? Good.
See, the problem is that there are things that happen that I have to write about - but putting a 'mandatory tag' on updating the website does a better job of pushing me away from writing, and then things fall behind, and that makes it even harder to update. So, let's get that 'mandatory' out of the way.
It's Twenty-Nine Day
Submitted by Quentin on Thu, 09/08/2005 - 3:02pm
Today is the only day of the year that we share our age. Welcome to 'officially-pushing-thirty', Robin, happy birthday!
Second Hand Rash
Submitted by Quentin on Wed, 08/10/2005 - 3:18pmBut I don't wanna write an update!
Seriously, I'm just not in the mood to squeeze in an update here. I will say quickly the following things.
Harry Potter Book VI was awesome. If you haven't read it and want to avoid spoilers, don't read this paragraph. Seriously, I can't stand unannounced spoilers, so this is your warning. Snape? He's a good guy, doing things he doesn't want to do. He's under orders, but it ain't Voldemort's orders that lead the to 'big surprise'. I'm happy to expand on my theories in a conversation, but I'm just not in the mood to type about it now.
Fahza's Day Weekend, and the eventual Star Wars banter
Submitted by Quentin on Mon, 06/20/2005 - 10:18amVickie and I had come into a bit of 'imaginary' cash, and we decided we needed a good break from the rigors of Minimal Spending to which we've been slave to for the past couple months. When work ended on Friday, she met me here and we went to the mall to do some window shopping and Father's Day gift-hunting. I was ecstatic to see that Spencer's carries the nerd-popular Airzooka, and will likely own one in the very near future.
