Missing Details Revealed

First off, apologies in advance for all you who receive the multiple emails about the Disease returning. I was still the rebuilding phase and a mistake in the original backups caused that bug. Of course, it may very well happen again. If it does, I'll apologize again. (What do you want for nuthin'?)

On to the main course: where the fuck have I been? Well, friends, it's been a long task. It all started many moons ago (about 3 weeks) when I thought to myself, "Quentin, why don't you move the server into the other room?" So I did. I moved the computer all of fifteen feet. However, Linux didn't shut down properly. When it rebooted, all of the passwords to all accounts had been deleted. This meant that no one could log in. Not root, not me, not even the fucking web server. I screamed. I yelled. I called friends to fix. I took the computer to my old workplace (more on that later) and after a few hours dropped some $$$ on a friend to fix it. He had it for quite a few days, one reason being my laziness to go get it, another being him taking his time to fix it. (Beggin da w00kie's forgiveness!) And lo, he did fix the machine and we got together to put it back into my network. And lo, it did not work, and there was much weeping and gnashing of teeth. The computer got passed to another friend, der Dream Weaver, who did place the machine in working order, and there was much rejoicing. Yea, for the Weaver of Dreams did go so far as to identify a faulty (read: piece of shit) NIC, and did replace yon card for me, as well as provide a honkering 30' cross-over cable. All praise der w00kie and der Weaver of Dreams for returning the Disease to full health. (Yes, that's irony.)

And let me tell you of a few other things, friends and Romans (but not you soddy countrymen, you go back to the fields!) about what I've been doing while waiting for my server to be returned. Firstly, I did indeed quit my job at OneNet. It's an exhilarating feeling when you can take your life back and say, "This job sucks, gimme another!" I now work at Abey Pest Control as their network administrator. The beauty to this job is the fact that since I keep a log of everything that I do, I don't have to limit my hours to 9-5. I wake up at noon. I don't need to go to any office, I just walk into the other room and begin working on their webpages and network configs from home. It ain't all a walk in the park, mind you. I'm up until 6am each night working on their shit, so don't think I'm shirking anything. I put in my 40 hours (hell, 40+) devoting my time to their servers. Tragedy struck, however, last Friday as a lightning storm took out their entire phone system and blasted the piss outta the network hub as well, so I've gotta go in there and rewire the whole thing.

Life has become enjoyable again. By working at home, I see Tina alot more. She's quit her job as Manager at GameQuest by my request so that she can find a better, more enjoyable job. We even took a vacation to Tennessee to see some of her family, where I did enjoy the luxuries of bungee jumping! One word, 4 letters: OMFG!!! That was so fucking amazing, I just can't begin to describe it on a webpage, but I'll probably try sometime in the future. :-)

Anyway, I've gotta return to the arduous task of "diggin in to" my server (gotta make sure everything's working, find bugs, install apps, blah blah blah), so I'll return you to your life, happy that your's truly has returned to you. :-) Feel free to stop by the forums and express how much you've missed me. Most importantly, if you notice some sort of a bug/flaw or anything not displaying properly (missing images, broken links, etc) please email me immediately! I'll give you a cookie.
